When you get your Invisalign or Clear Aligners, you will have some tooth colored bumps placed on the teeth for control of tooth movement.
Here are some things to know about attachments:
-It’s a super easy process to place them- no pain! We will prepare the surface of your teeth for bonding. We will then use a super comfortable template tray to mark the sites for attachments. We will then use our curing light to harden the tiny bumps in place.
-When the attachments are no longer needed, they will be gently removed from your teeth with no damage to the actual tooth surface.
-They are visible on your teeth, but you can barely see them! Attachments are placed on the surface of your teeth, just as the brackets that are used in traditional braces.
-The attachments may be shaped differently on some teeth and the position is planned carefully!
-Watch out for food & drinks that may stain them. Brush & floss really well. Feel free to ask us to polish them whenever!
-These attachments give us an extra bit of force and added precision when using clear aligners. They also allow for patients with more severe cases to have aligners as a treatment option.
